All change after many years as the ARP F3 Championship it was rebranded to the Enterprise Edge Club F3 Championship. Headed up by Keith Baldwin it proved to be the right move and 2006 was a great season. Shane Kelly was the Championship winner.....................(click here for the full story)

 BRSCC F3 Cardinus Championship

2006 Drivers

The BRSCC F3 Cardinus Championship is for drivers participating in Formula 3 single-seat cars with a 2 litre restricted engine built and raced between 1st January 1985 and 31st December 2004, racing in three classes:

Class A:- for cars constructed from 1st January 1997 up to 31st December 2004, with a maximum engine air restriction of 26.00mm diameter.

Class B:- for cars constructed from 1st January 1992 up to 31st December 1996, with a maximum engine air restriction of 26.00mm diameter.

Masters Class:- for cars constructed from 1st January 1981 up to 31st December 1991, with a maximum engine air restriction of 25.00mm diameter.

Note: A Masters Class driver may, upon entry to the championship, elect to run their car in either Masters Class with a 25mm air restrictor, or in Class B with a 26mm restrictor upon an existing Master Class engine. In addition, when electing to compete in Class B, engines/ECU's built and raced during the defined time period (as above) for Class B cars can also be used with a 26mm air restrictor. (In all other respects Master Class rules apply).

The driver with the highest points total at the end of the season will be awarded the overall title of;- BRSCC F3 Cardinus championship winner. In addition, there will also be an individual Class winner from each of the three classes. In order to ensure that drivers from all classes have an equal opportunity to win the overall championship, a simple car weight ballast handicapping system will be applied. The championship will be contested over a maximum of 13 rounds, with race and qualification periods being each of 25 minutes duration.

The BRSCC F3 Cardinus Championship, created, organised and promoted by BRSCC for its members. Its aim is to make genuine F3 racing come within the financial reach of the majority of its members, by ensuring the annual race budgets required will normally be less than 10% of full British F3 costs. In this way, competitors have the opportunity to race modern F3 cars at a fraction of the normal costs.

The BRSCF3 Cardinus Championship aims to be a BRSCC Flag Ship Championship, The Championship organising team have many years of motor sport organisational, management and racing experience, which combined with their enthusiasm and focus will ensure the Championship is promoted and supported in a highly professional way.

In this way not only will BRSCC members enjoy better racing, value for money and recognition, but it could also act as a promotional springboard for other talented drivers, who will now have the platform to gain recognition, by demonstrating their abilities in top quality single-seater cars, at a fraction of normal race budgets required for other top single-seater championships.
